I love anything that has to do with witches. The Secret Circle, Charmed, Beautiful Creatures–these are some of my favorite books. So when I had the chance to read an early copy of The Connelly Boys, I jumped at the chance. And boy am I glad I did! This was an amazing read! I loved the characters, the world-building, the magic system. It was so creative and refreshing! I was on the edge of my seat for so much of the book, and now I can’t wait for Book 2!

HOLY COW!!! Prepare to be up late reading this one. I couldn’t just finish 1 chapter, I had to keep reading to find out what happens next. I still can’t get over some of the reveals that happened, I didn’t see them coming at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

If you’re a fan of books about witches like I am, then you absolutely have to read this book. My favorite thing about it was the relationship between the brothers. You could really tell they cared for each other and would do anything for each other. It was nice to see. Family is a big theme in the book, which I really liked. I also loved Scarlet’s character development over the course of the book, as well as all the mythology, magic, and lore that was explained. It made me want to be a part of the Connelly world.

Okay, it’s official. I’m in love with the Connelly boys. From the moment they first appeared on the page, I was a total goner lol. Lily Velez has crafted such a fun, mystical, adventurous, action-packed world of magic that you just want to lose yourself in. I will shout from the rooftops about this book because it was just that awesome! It’s definitely been one of my favorite reads this year.
